A pinkish or reddish tint on LCD screens can only happen to screens that use florescent backlight tubes (or CCFT - Cold Cathode Florescent Tube) - it won't happen to LED-based screens.
What's a backlight tube anyway? Well ... it's just your good ole florescent tube - scaled down to roughly 10" to 16" in length and about 1/16th of an inch in diameter (for PC's and laptops), that's what it is. You've seen good ole florescent tubes before - in your garage, your kitchen, or your office, or in warehouses. When florescent tubes fail, they either (1) don't go to full brightness immediately, or (2) they don't go to full brightness at all, or (3) they go blink, blink, blink, and then off, or (4) they're dead.
The pinkish/reddish tint on your LCD screen is just a backlight tube that ain't at full brightness (the tube still produces white light, it just look pinkish/reddish when filtered thru the screen's glass top). In many cases, this only happens on startup and full brightness will happen in a few seconds; in some cases, you get a pinkish/reddish tint for the first few seconds and then it blinks and blacks out. If your screen gets you full brightness in a few seconds, then keep on using it - as the "grace periods" of these things can be indefinite (I've had a screen with a pinkish/reddish tint on start up for over 10 years and it's still going). If your screen gets you a pinkish/reddish tint on startup and then goes black, then it is hell and gone: you either replace the tube or replace the screen altogether.
Backlight tubes are located either at the bottom or the top of LCD screens and run its entire length. These tubes are buried deep inside the bowels of LCD screens, and replacing them is a very, very, very, very difficult task (level of difficulty is beyond human). I've done it a hundred times and I can count on one hand the number of completions that are perfect: twice. If you have to replace a backlight tube, there's only one way: get a used screen with a good tube, and you must get the exact same screen as your original screen, and go from there; any other way, and you're gonna get yourself in a world of hurt - and that's guaranteed. Easiest way is to replace the entire screen altogether.

Raising Happy Children
Raising Happy Children
My thoughts today go toward children. We raised three of them, they are all in their late twenties. Our oldest recently was married in 2011. We were blessed to have happy babies. They hardly fussed at night, and woke up bubbly every morning, ready for the day. I now know how rare that can be in some house holds. Maybe it was their disposition, or our way of raising them, or maybe it was both. When they were teenagers we had a great time with them. Family life was not always perfect. We had our challenges and disappointments but for the most part it was okay at best, and survivable at worst. In the end they all turned out pretty good as far as people, hard working, loving, independent, respectable citizens. Was it luck? You decide. This is how we lived.
We never let them cry to sleep. We always picked them up.
We prayed over their day each morning, and over them every night.
They were never baby sat the first 5 years except once or twice because of a funeral.
We chose to have less, and live on one income while raising them, in order to have mom at home.
We ALWAYS endeavored to know who they were with, and where they were at, until they left home.
Our adult children who lived with us past their 18th birthday understood, this "if you live here you abide by our
rules", 12:00 am curfew. You will work, and pay rent, or go to school,
They didn't seem to mind, and two of them stayed with us until they married.
We laughed a lot, talked a lot, sang songs together, and went to church every Sunday.
We let them express themselves creatively and honed in on their talents. We let them dress how they wanted
except for no belly button showing, tattoos, or piercing. They still are not tattooed or pierced, and the belly
buttons are still covered. However, the hair started getting long, around 11, and the music pretty crazy, surfing, skateboarding
and snow boarding the rave, (bridge propelling ...) We never once had to deal with substance abuse, or rebellion.
We did have to deal with bad decisions, but never character issues. It was to easy and to fun the older they got.
They each had their own jobs, and paid for their first vehicles. We co-signed for the second. Not sure if that was
a good idea, but, for us it panned out. Now they have grown up, have their own vocations, and are musicians on the side.
The boys can fix their cars and houses. The girl is raising three of her own and staying home, and has a little money making
venture on the side. By my standards I think they turned out great, by societies standards, they are tax payers. By God's standards
well, they love and favor Him, so, I'm sure it is a mutual arrangement.
Is this a workable guide for raising children? You decide. I think if you take prayer out of the equation you
might be left with nothing. So keep it in. That is one thing I can vouch for, the rest of it, may all be hit and miss.

Perfect camera - film to expensive!
I purchased the Polaroid One Step Camera to have for my grandkids to use just for fun. They appreciate the instant photo in their hands. The camera was still in the package as a new product. Works great but I would not buy it again as it is too hard to get the film to use in it. I did purchase some film at a decent price but it did not work properly due to being outdated. The price for film is way too high to justify its purchase. Would have been fun!!

What is an Original Photograph?
It is helpful, for the purpose of comparison, to first consider a painting. With a painting, there are basically two options:
Original: The original work done by the artist (there is only one!)
Copy: Any reproduction of that work (copy by another artist, giclee print, limited edition print, hand detailed copy, etc.)
However, with a photograph, things get a little more difficult. Consider the following definitions:
- Loose definition: Anything on photo paper that "looks like" an original (an unfortunate, yet strangely pervasive definition on eBay)
- Common definition: A print made from the original negative
- Time-sensitive: A print made from the original negative at the time the photo was taken (this is often referred to as "vintage print")
- Artist-specific: A print made, by the photographer, from the original negative (sometimes referred to as an "artist print")
- Combination: A print made, by the photographer, from the original negative, at the time the photo was taken.
To make things even more confusing, many of the terms generally associated with originals are often used to describe non-originals. Phrases like "original wirephoto" or "giclee artist print" or "vintage reprint" can have even the most savvy buyer wondering what exactly is being sold.
A few attempts have been made to standardize the language that is used to describe photos - Fogel and Yee's "A Portrait of Baseball Photography" uses Types I, II, III, and IV to describe degrees of originality. The Certified Guaranty Company (CGC) uses labels of Vintage, Original, and Modern to separate the photos that they authenticate. But there has been no widespread adoption of either of these systems. So the bottom line is, when it comes to photos, there is no standard definition of what constitutes an original. In fact, the argument could be made that the only true "original" work in film-based photography is the negative (or positive for slide film) and that all prints are, by definition, simply reproductions of the image captured on the film. But that is a different discussion.
So the next time you want to ask a seller if a photo is an original, keep the following in mind:
- Know what question you are really asking (from a negative? timeframe? by the artist?) and be specific.
- Try to understand what question the seller is answering.
- Look at as many of the seller's listings as possible to see what he/she describes as "original." In some cases, you'll see a huge spectrum.
- Keep in mind that with photographs, originality does NOT guarantee uniqueness (unlike paintings).

King Duvet Cover Set, Luxury Bedding Sheets as Gift Set by Dolce Mela, DM402K
Let me explain what duvet covers are and what are they are good for.
Simply put a Duvet Cover is a large pillow case with an opening at one end allowing you to insert a comforter or a quilt or even a blanket. The opening is at the footer of this large pillow case and usually comes with a zipper or buttons or even better plastic snaps to close it after you insert your choice of filler.
OK now you can see that a Duvet Cover is totally different than a Duvet pronounced [doo-vey] (dropping out the t) and comes from the French word to describe a down filled quilt. So make no mistake and confuse Duvet Covers with Duvets which in reality are comforters filled with some sort of insulating fiber.
Now lets talk about why you should consider buying Duvet Covers instead of plain bedding sheets in combination with a comforter or quilt.
Duvet covers have been popular in Europe for many years but now they are making their way into the American market and for many good reasons.
Duvet Covers have many advantages over plan sheets:
- Duvet Covers primarily allow you to decorate your bedroom like you never did before and with little money. The reason is that it costs much more to buy quality comforters and when you find them the choice of designs are very limited. But instead now days you will find an abundance of designs of Duvet Covers and in particular the printed ones that offers so many colors and designs starting from simple to exotic and from solid to floral prints, animal prints and so on.
- Duvet Covers protect your quilts or comforters and keep them clean so you don't have to worry about laundering them, which is usually hard to do if not impossible with some types of fillers that they can only be dry cleaned, but instead washing Duvet Covers is a breeze and as easy as machine washing your regular sheets.
- Duvet Covers work well for all seasons and temperatures. All you have to worry is the type of quilt insert that you will use and presto you now have nice decorating bedding for all seasons.
- Duvet Covers make it so easy to fix your bed in the morning, just grab the ends at the footer give it a shake and straiten it up and you are done.
- Duvet Covers make it so easy to sleep in them and they don't slip and slide as with the case of using a combination of sheets and comforter. This is also great for kids that tend to turn a lot at night and loose their covers or get them all twisted.
- Duvet covers take much less space to store away than comforters, so you can have a few duvet covers and easily change the look of your bedroom's decor. Duvet covers can be changed as often as you want to wash them or whenever you want to change the style of your bedding.
OK now that you know what Duvet Covers are and want to buy one here is what you need to look for:
- Look for 100% cotton Duvet Covers recommended. Although you can spend more money for more expensive material such as silk or bamboo, cotton seems to be the most practical and priced right material for duvet covers. Remember also that you want the comfort of machine washing them your self and as often as you want without warring off ruining some other expensive material.
- Look for Thread Count (also known as TC) between 200 and 400 with 300 as the balanced option. There is no need to fall victim to high priced thread count material which in reality makes no sense unless its expensive material and you know what you are buying.
- Buy Duvet Cover Sets as opposed to just the Duvet Covers where you have to color coordinate the sheets and pillow cases. In many cases you will end up paying more to put the complete bedding together as opposed to just buying them as sets.

The Sony MDR-V150 is a supra-aural headphone designed for excellent listening comfort and features 30mm diameter drivers for deep bass. Ferrite magnets are utilized for high energy and to produce ample sound output.
What happens when we both want to watch something at the same time, in the same room?
Well that's why there exists Sony MDR V150 headphones.
I do mainly use mine while streaming sports on my laptop, or watching a film featuring some brutish actor with limited vocabulary using guns and martial arts to outwit the 'bad guy'...don't judge me lol. In addition to this though I do occasionally use them to listen to music, so I feel I am able to offer a balanced opinion on the sound quality.
Supra-aural closed-back stereo headphone ideal for use with portable audio sources such as MP3 or CD players.
You will notice when using these that the sound quality is crisp and clear, with good levels of bass and treble. They provide a balanced sound even when turned up loud. To say I have an eclectic taste in music would be an understatement, but these headphones provide a great experience, listening to all genres, something that can't be said of many headphones in this price bracket! They are equally adept at providing the required audio atmosphere when watching films, be it action, horror... or whatever else may take your fancy.
In terms of build quality they are really decent.
The only real downside in terms of design is that there is no padding on the 'headband' and as they are made of plastic although there is wide molded headband, this can become quite uncomfortable after prolonged use. In terms of how they feel on the ears, the padding is sufficient and I find them to be comfortable with continued use of 1 to 2 hours.
You will have realized from what I've written so far that I use these indoor, this is primarily as I prefer in-ear earphones if I'm on the move. However, even if I did want to use these outdoors I probably wouldn't as the cable length is 2 metres and it's like a twin wire (I don't know the correct term so apologies). As a result I wouldn't recommend them for use on the go, but I guess that part is down to personal preference really.
One of the features of these headphones is the reversible ear cups are included for single-sided monitoring, supposedly for DJ monitoring. For those that don't know, this basically means the ear-cups can swivel so you can lay one ear-cup flat against your ear listening to the music, whilst also listening to what's going on around you. Now, I'm no DJ so I'm probably not best placed to comment, but my personal opinion would be that these are a little flimsy for that purpose and I suspect regular use like this would lead to the ear-cup breaking off.
Packaging wise they came in the standard plastic blister packaging, but the Sony branding did make them stand out on the shelf. Included in the packaging is a 6.3 mm (1/4") stereo adapter. My TV has a 6.3mm jack whereas my laptop has a 3.5mm jack... therefore I think this is a very welcome addition as it meant I didn't have to buy one separately.
